Biologics are a type of medication that are derived from living organisms, such as humans, animals, or microorganisms. In the context of allergy and asthma healthcare, biologics refer to a specific class of medications that target and modulate the immune system to treat allergic conditions like asthma, allergic rhinitis, and chronic urticaria.

Additionally, immune system dysregulation and an overactive immune response contribute to the development of the condition.

The triggers for atopic dermatitis can vary from person to person, but common triggers include irritants (such as soaps, detergents, certain fabrics), allergens (such as pollen, pet dander, dust mites), changes in temperature or humidity, emotional stress, sweating, certain foods, and skin infections.

We now offer telemedicine visits to provide remote care and minimize the need for in-person appointments during the ongoing COVID-19 situation. This service allows patients to receive care from the comfort of their homes, reducing the need to visit our office.

Masks are required by nurses and providers providing direct patient care at Advanced Allergy and Asthma Care. Masks are optional for visitors. Even though many of our providers and staff members are fully vaccinated, we are following CDC guidance.

 As a larger portion of the population becomes vaccinated we all look forward to the day that we can reduce the current rules about mask wearing in the physicians office.
